India’s first Hindi feature film on menopause – Me No Pause Me Play – marks a bold and much-needed step in women-centric storytelling. Featuring Kamya Punjabi, Deepshikha Nagpal, and Sudha Chandran in powerful roles, the film is based on Manoj Kumar Sharma’s acclaimed book and is set to release on November 28, 2025.
In a groundbreaking move for Indian cinema, Digifilming and Mirrro Films have unveiled the first poster of Me No Pause Me Play, a film that tackles a subject rarely explored on the silver screen — menopause, an inevitable yet often unspoken chapter in a woman’s life. The project aims to normalize conversations around women’s health, emotional transitions, and self-acceptance.
In a society where discussions about menstruation are only now beginning to find a voice, menopause remains a taboo — a topic cloaked in silence and discomfort. Yet, it’s a natural and significant phase that profoundly affects a woman’s hormones, mental well-being, confidence, and identity. Through this film, the makers aspire to break stereotypes, spark awareness, and foster empathy and understanding.
Based on the widely appreciated book Me No Pause Me Play by Manoj Kumar Sharma, the film brings to life stories inspired by real experiences. Sharma, who has also written and produced the film, ensures authenticity and emotional depth, aiming to create both cinematic and social impact.
Helmed by director Samar K. Mukherjee, the film features Kamya Punjabi, Deepshikha Nagpal, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Sudha Chandran, Amiee Misobbah, Karan Chhabra, and Aman Verma — each portraying characters who redefine strength, acceptance, and transformation.
“Menopause deserves understanding, not silence,” reads the film’s core message. “This film is about empathy, awareness, and acceptance — for every woman who faces this change with quiet courage.”
Lead actress Kamya Punjabi shared,
“In our society, people have slowly started talking about menstruation, but menopause is still treated like a secret. It’s something every woman experiences, yet we’re expected to stay silent about it. Me No Pause Me Play gives that silence a voice — it’s about acceptance, courage, and reminding every woman that this phase doesn’t define her end, but a new beginning.”
With screenplay and dialogues by Shakeel Qureshi and Manoj Kumar Sharma, and cinematography by Akram Khan, Me No Pause Me Play releasing on November 28, 2025 promises to be a defining moment in women-centric cinema — one that replaces hesitation with hope and silence with strength.
