Daughter of a Star, But Determined for Her Own Shine
There’s a rising star in Bollywood, and her name is Palak Tiwari. The daughter of renowned television actress Shweta Tiwari, Palak is determined to make her own mark in the industry.

Despite her familial ties, Palak isn’t afraid to take risks. Her debut in the music video “Bijlee Bijlee” (2021) showcased her willingness to experiment, and her recent film debut alongside Salman Khan solidified her place as a force to be reckoned with.

“That’s true,” says Palak.
“I do enjoy trying new things. When something catches my attention, I want to experience it in every way. But I only get experimental when I am comfortable with something I love. For instance, I feel so involved in the world of cinema and love it so much that I want to do different roles.”
From Comparisons to Confidence
While comparisons to her mother, Shweta Tiwari, are inevitable, Palak understands the source and uses it as motivation. “I wouldn’t say that [the comparisons are unfair],” she says.

“I understand where people are coming from. Initially, I felt it was a little unfair when they couldn’t see that I was working hard. As I get older, I am aware that there are some people who are working doubly hard yet do not get the recognition they deserve.”
Looking Forward: A Scary-Sweet Future
With her sights set on the future, Palak is excited about her upcoming projects, including the horror-comedy “The Virgin Tree.” “I don’t want to say too much about it yet, but I am really proud of the film and everyone who has been a part of it. It’s a truly funny, sweet, heartwarming, and scary film. It’s a movie made with a lot of heart,” she says.

However, Palak is also cautious about making the right choices.
“I am deciding what kind of films I want to do because your initial choices shape your career. I am doing good work, and I have some exciting collaborations. Here’s to the best of me in 2024 and 2025.”
