Held at Kusgaon, Maharashtra on Maharashtra Day, the event commemorated the inauguration of the 13.3 km Missing Link corridor – a transformative project designed to bypass the accident-prone Western Ghat section, reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune by up to 30 minutes, and redefine speed, safety, and efficiency on one of India’s busiest expressways.

Attended by over 500 distinguished guests, the landmark occasion brought together government leadership, global authorities, and industry stakeholders to commemorate a project set to redefine connectivity between Mumbai and Pune.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis, alongside Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Eknath Shinde and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Smt. Sunetra Pawar. The Guinness World Record was formally adjudicated and presented by Sonia Ushirogochi, representing Guinness World Records.

Percept ICE, the Experiential Marketing, Event Management, Exhibitions & Brand Activations arm of Percept Limited, conceptualised and executed a deeply immersive experience for Navayuga, transforming an extraordinary feat of engineering into a powerful, multi-sensory narrative. From strategic storyline development to flawless on-ground execution, every element was designed to translate infrastructure complexity into emotion, scale into spectacle, and data into a story that could be seen, felt, and remembered.

At the heart of the experience was a meticulously curated visual journey. Through a series of striking, larger-than-life storytelling panels and spatial installations, guests were taken behind the scenes of the Missing Link Project, tracing its evolution from vision to reality. The narrative brought alive the sheer magnitude of the undertaking, including the excavation of over 85 lakh tonnes of rock through the formidable terrain of the Sahyadri range; the deployment of 7,600 tonnes of steel reinforcing the tunnel’s structural integrity; and the use of over 1.1 lakh cubic metres of shotcrete to ensure durability and stability under extreme conditions. This was further complemented by 2.2 lakh cubic metres of Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC), engineered for long-term performance, and an extraordinary 9 million manhours, reflecting the human grit and precision that powered the project.

This physical storytelling seamlessly transitioned into a high-definition Audio-Visual experience that elevated the narrative to an emotional crescendo. Featuring real, on-ground footage from across the project lifecycle, from early excavation through rugged mountain terrain to breakthrough engineering moments deep within the tunnels, the AV brought authenticity to the experience. Sweeping visuals of construction in progress, precision-led operations, and the scale of machinery at work were interwoven with human stories from the workforce, creating a visceral, first-hand window into the making of the Missing Link. Advanced safety systems and engineering innovations were showcased through dynamic visualisations, reinforcing both scale and sophistication.

The experience culminated in a dramatic on-stage reveal, where the Guinness World Records recognition was formally presented, marking a historic milestone for Indian infrastructure.

Percept Profile, the strategic communications and public relations arm of Percept Limited, led the integrated PR and media mandate for the landmark event. The team drove end-to-end communications, from on-ground media coordination and seamless press management to capturing real-time bytes from key dignitaries and stakeholders. This was complemented by swift post-event storytelling, with curated media releases, coverage amplification, and narrative building that extended the impact well beyond the venue ensured that both the Missing Link launch and the Guinness World Records felicitation translated into strong, high-visibility media presence and sustained engagement.

The Missing Link Project stands as one of India’s most complex and transformative infrastructure achievements, significantly enhancing connectivity and reducing travel time between Mumbai and Pune. Percept ICE and Percept Profile ensured that this milestone was not merely communicated, but viscerally experienced. From precision-led guest management and seamless high-level protocol execution to impactful stagecraft and impeccable technical delivery, every detail was orchestrated to mirror the scale, significance, and pride of the achievement.

This event underscores Percept’s leadership in translating large-scale infrastructure achievements into powerful public narratives. By combining strategy, creativity, and executional excellence, Percept ICE continues to redefine how India experiences its biggest milestones.
