Vidya Balan is an Indian film actress. She was born on 1st January 1978 in Kerala. Initially, she started her career with Malayalam movies while studying for her Master’s degree. Later she won the “National Film Award for Best Actress” in 2011 for the super-hit movie “The Dirty Picture” in which she play the leading role of the character “Silk / Reshma”. Balan also won 5 Filmfare till date for her various superb performances in various films.

Vidya is known for portraying strong female protagonists and has been acknowledged in the media for pioneering a change in the concept of a Hindi film heroine.
