Ritu Kumar presents “Native Spirit” at Lakme Fashion Week 2018
LABEL Ritu Kumar’s theme for the season “Native Spirit” is an ode to nature and the great outdoors. The collection blends elements of tribal art from Native American in the form of colour blocking, shading, floral prints, layering, frills and sequence. It renders the essence of the countryside in striking prints and colours.
The collection’s colour palette is a mix of burgundies, reds and mustard with a twist of fresh citrus pastels. The collection introduces innovative textures and rustic charm through modern details such as leather braiding and clean metal accents. Abstract prints inspired from tribal artworks are placed on chiffon’s, cotton silks and crepes. Corduroy dungarees paired with printed tops and over the top fringe detailing adds a distinct Wild West theme to the line. .
Speaking about the collection, Amrish Kumar, CEO, LABEL Ritu Kumar said, “This season, you can expect to see exaggerated fringe details, suede vests and cowboy hats complete with boots. As always, you will see distinct prints that define Label Ritu Kumar on prairie tops and long dresses.”
