She explains:

“No acting school would have been able to teach me the lessons I’ve learned while working on different sets. I think I owe my career to television. That’s what allowed me to dream even bigger; I knew there was a big universe waiting for me,”

In 2012, she made her television debut with “Mujhse Kuch Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan,” but it wasn’t until her 2018 film debut in “Love Sonia,” which also starred Demi Moore, that people really started to pay attention. She believes that OTT platforms have made it simpler to switch from one media to another.

A young Mrunal Thakur was greatly impacted by ‘Jab We Met’; YOLO, after all. “The film hit me hard. I knew that this is my life and I did not want to live with the regret of not being able to explore and try different things,” ruminates Mrunal, adding that while she did appear for the common medical entrance tests after her Class 12, she knew this is not where she belonged. Eventually, the small-town Mrunal enrolled in a media and journalism course at Mumbai’s KC College.

She was fortunate to be led along a practical road when a buddy suggested she keep showing up to auditions. “This egged the competitive side of me — I like taking on challenges and if someone says, ‘you can’t do it’, I want to quietly show them how I can. I also realized that as long as I’m in front of the camera, I’m happy,” she said.
