Is Bollywood fuelling piracy? The film industry is one such area which faces tremendous effects of the piracy/leak. In fact, the fear of movie leaks among the filmmakers has overpowered the threat concerning the film’s failure. From the highly awaited Hollywood’s Quantico 3, starring Priyanka Chopra to the controversial flick Udta Punjab and Parched, innumerable high budget movies had to go through the most turbulent quotient of pre-release piracy. But what’s the truth behind these leaks? Speaking of the same social media expert Raju Singh Rathore says, “It’s really unfortunate as a single movie is the result of efforts of hundreds of people. But at the same time, in the light of the prevailing scenarios and the desperate need of marketing a film better than anybody else, we cannot deny that PR agencies often take to deliberate leakage of few scenes of the movie. Owing to certain factors, these tactics fail to work properly thereby turning everything upside down. An effort which was made to garner publicity, end up with negative criticism and poor box office collection.” Bollywood’s latest release Julie 2, an adult-drama, got trapped in a similar situation when few intimate scenes from the movie were leaked on social media. Despite the buzz created around the country, the movie failed to attract the audience towards the theater. Well, we cannot directly comment if it was a deliberate leak or not, but obviously, the mishap didn’t really go in the favour of the filmmakers. But how to sense what’s real? Adding to his comment, Singh said, “Today’s audience is smart enough to sense what’s intentional/deliberate and what’s not.” “Moreover, the laws against film leaks are strong enough. So, in case it’s an accidental leak or a hack, the concerned authority reacts immediately to get hold of the culprit so as to punish him under the law. A great example of it is the movie Kabaali, which was leaked on Torrent before its official release but was immediately taken down within few hours. The man behind the leak was also arrested in no time.” At the end, such things are unavoidable. All that can be done is to stay cautious. It’s high time that filmmakers take a step ahead to create better and stronger firewalls for themselves.

Television actress Hina Khan has been getting terrible brickbats from across the media for her comments against Gauhar Khan, Sakshi Tanwar and others on Salman Khan's Bigg Boss. "This woman might be the only female celebrity in the history of Bigg Boss to have earned respect with her adorable character on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, only to destroy it on an international TV show Bigg Boss 11," says an article on India.com. "Every time Hina opens her mouth, she has to say something controversial. Wonder if she says it without realizing that millions of people are watching and judging her for the person she is. Or is she deliberately trying hard to win the show with these antics?" it adds. The article goes on to state that "Except for Hina’s fans and her boyfriend Rocky Jaiswal, everyone is clearly able to see how wrong she is. From making statements like 'South industry prefers only bulging women', body shaming her co-contestants on Bigg Boss 11 to calling Sakshi Tanwar 'cock-eyed' and saying things like 'Gauahar Khan is less popular' than her, the actress has just lost respect. No wonder celebrities from the telly land are taking to Twitter to troll her." It's true that from the last few days the media has portrayed Hina of having tarnished her image and reputation and branded her a PR disaster. Unexpectedly, Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar has been the only media person who has come out openly in support of the actress. "Hina Khan is NOT doing anything in Bigg Boss which can be considered odd according to BB standards. She is only adding to the dramatic value of the show," says Dale. The guy knows what he is talking about. After all, Dale is Bollywood's only public relations expert who specializes with crisis management and can twist and turn controversies in favour of celebs; cutting through media buzz like a knife through butter. And he says, "Hina is NOT in the wrong for being herself. She doesn't deserve this one-sided backlash. Her only fault is that she lacks strategic support and control in the outside world, which others seem to have in place."

Hina Khan strong in Bigg Boss; but Shilpa Shinde, Hiten Tejwani, Vikas Gupta can overtake! A few weeks ago, Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar had posted a message on Twitter, complimenting Priyank Sharma for the way he was strategically carrying himself in Bigg Boss 11. Inspired by the post, a social media fan group of Priyank approached the PR expert to promote Priyank in the media. To Dale's surprise, they offered him an amount unheard of in the PR industry in India. "The group said they will pool the monies through crowd-funding with the help of fan pages on Facebook and Twitter," informs the Mumbai-based PR expert. "I found that quite innovative," Dale admits. However, Dale refused the offer. "I am a media manipulator, not a fan. And I didn't find it ethical to do PR maneuvers without being appointed by the person concerned or his family," remarks the publicist. Though he did mention that he may reconsider the idea, if his advocate gave him a go-ahead from the legal point of view. When it comes to reality television, Dale is no ordinary PR man. He has handled the media hype, controversies and crisis management for Shilpa Shetty during Big Brother and for a full 20 contestants of Bigg Boss, including names such as Rahul Mahajan, Mandana Karimi, Aman Verma, Amar Upadhyay, Rakhi Sawant, Sambhavna Seth, Sherlyn Chopra, Pooja Misrra and Sonali Raut. When asked, who is the most promising out of all the contestants, Dale does not mince words. "Hina Khan started the best and is somehow managing to hold forte for now. She is playing her cards well. But as far as outside support goes, Shilpa Shinde, Hiten Tejwani and Vikas Gupta are slowly surging ahead." Let's see if equations change by the time Bigg Boss 11 Finale is announced and in the final weeks when we can get clear indications of a suitable BB11 winner.

National award-winning make-up and prosthetics artiste Preetisheel Singh has once again managed to receive rave reviews for her art with the Siddharth-Andrea Jeremiah horror film The House Next Door, making the ghost flick extremely believable and spooky. Based on a true story, director Milind Rau’s film is made in three languages. Apart from The House Next Door in Hindi, it has released as Aval (She) in Tamil and Gruham (Home) in Telugu, garnering acclaim for all three versions. "The film makes audience cower in their seats biting their nails while trying to look away from the screens," reports The Indian Express. Times of India calls it a "well-executed" and "gripping" film, while First Post says, the "ghost flick is terror-ific". Preetisheel uses her prosthetic make-up for ghostlike apparitions says Gulf News, "which are way removed from the regular pan-caked powder faces of other Indian films." Scroll calls the film a "very well crafted and a commendable addition to the genre" and Bollywood Life writes, the "film manages to scare the daylights out of you." Apart from critical acclaim, actor Siddharth is ga-ga over Preetisheel's work. "Her design framework has brought a sense of professionalism to the whole experience of prosthetic make-up," says the actor. It can be noted that a few months ago Preetisheel received accolades for the look she designed for Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the Sridevi-starrer Mom. She now awaits the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati where she has designed the looks for Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor as well as Deepika Padukone.

एक प्रश्न दो जवाब, प्राची और मनुषी की सोच अलग-अलग 'मिस वर्ल्ड 2017' का खिताब जीतकर मनुषी छिल्लर ने देश का सर फ़क्र से ऊंचा कर दिया है। जजों के सवाल के जवाब में मनुषी का सहज और खुश कर देने वाला जवाब ही उन्हें ये ताज पहनने के लिए काफी था। हालांकि उनका उत्तर काफी समझदारी भरा और उचित था लेकिन हमारी प्राची तेहलान का इस विषय मे अलग विचार है। प्राची ब्यूटी विथ ब्रेन और इच्छाशक्ति का अनूठा उदाहरण हैं जो 2010 के कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली सबसे युवा कप्तान रही थीं। इतना ही नही, उनके प्रतिनिधित्व में भारत ने पहली बार नेटबॉल में पदक भी हासिल किया था। अंतिम दौर में, मनुषी से सवाल पूछा गया, "कौन-सा पेशा उसके अनुसार सबसे ज्यादा वेतन के लायक है?"। इसके जवाब में उन्होंने काफी भावनात्मक और समझदार उत्तर दिया। उन्होंने कहा, "मुझे लगता है कि एक मां सर्वोच्च सम्मान की हक़दार हैं और जब आप वेतन के बारे में बात करते हैं तो यह हमेशा नकदी के बारे में नहीं होता है। मुझे लगता है कि यह प्यार और सम्मान है जिसे आप किसी को देते हैं। मेरी मां हमेशा मेरे जीवन की सबसे बड़ी प्रेरणा रही है। सभी माताएं अपने बच्चों के लिए इतना बलिदान करते हैं तो, मुझे लगता है कि माँ का काम है जो उच्चतम वेतन के योग्य है।" एक ओर जहां लाखों लोगों इस तरह की दिल छू लेने वाली प्रतिक्रिया की सराहना कर रहे है, दूसरी ओर प्राची ने हटकर अपने दिल की बात कही। उनके मुताबिक मातृत्व पेशा नहीं है, "मेरे लिए, किसी भी रक्षा बल में होना सबसे अधिक वेतन वाला पेशा होना चाहिए क्योंकि हर किसी में प्रशिक्षित होने और लाखों देशवासियों की रक्षा करने की हिम्मत नहीं होती है। वे बेहद कठोर परिस्थितियों में अपने जीवन को घर से दूर रहते हैं और इसलिए वे सर्वोच्च सम्मान के योग्य होते है।" प्राची की बात भी महत्वपूर्ण है। हम सब कह सकते हैं कि दोनों सुंदरियां अपने स्थानों पर समान रूप से सही हैं। आखिरकार एक माँ हो या एक सैनिक; बलिदान, प्यार, और निस्वार्थ उनके रगों में होता है।
